Mission Statement: We provide services for persons of all ages with a primary focus on individuals who have a disability. These services are tailored to the changing needs of individuals and families for the purpose of enhancing their experiences, skills and abilities.
Abilities Unlimited: formerly known as the Association for the Support of Human Services (ASHS), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt agency that has been providing services to families in the greater Westfield Area since 1976. Abilities Unlimited provides a wide range of support services for individuals and families dealing with a variety of developmental disabilities including mental retardation, physical and/or emotional challenges and learning disabilities.
Services provided by Abilities Unlimited include:
- Assistive Communication Technology (ACT) Center - a site containing adaptive/assistive technology to help individuals with developmental disabilities improve communication skills.
- Family Support Program - family-based programs and services for families who have a family member with developmental disabilities.
- Kamp for Kids/Camp Togowauk - integrated summer (July-August) day program.
- PLUS - a nine-week summer program that provides meaningful work experiences in Human Services for urban high school seniors and college students.
- Self-Advocacy - a special program to enable individuals with developmental disabilities pursue personal and group goals.
